But that couldn't last forever. Now he's a solidly established WWE guy with a better career than most will ever see so if they put him over it doesn't feel like a smark victory anymore. Very few people are going as far as to say he's fallen off, and fuck anybody that does, but he's not the outsider anymore. As far as his influence on the WWE brand goes, he's mostly known for getting Gallows and Anderson a spot in the company. He hasn't spent his time helping WWE establish the next AJ Styles so he's kind of a storytelling dead end. I guess he was helping push Mia Yim or something.
As I'm typing this, it's weird that they never had him carry Logan Paul through a match. They almost 100% redid his Lesnar match but with Danielson and that's the one everyone remembers. His Undertaker feud went really well in his "established guy" era but that was a while ago. His matches are good but the iconic moments aren't happening.
