AEW is just a retirement home for attitude era midcard boomers who couldnt make it as top guys during that period (Jericho, Edge, Christian, Hardys). Truly a secondary promotion with secondary star power

Edge never belonged in the main event scene. They just had to push him because they ran out of main eventers.
It's the same exact reason Bret Hart was bumped up from the midcard, even though he would never be a true main eventer.
