Back in the 80s though, he was probably saved by the lack of an internet with social media. If some boomer wanted to seethe they'd have to get out their typewriter, write a letter to the editor of the local paper (manually applying correction fluid to white-over the countless typos they were bound to make), and mail it in (paying for postage), and then the editor might choose not to publish it. And if it did get published the laughable readership of the "letters" page and small area of circulation of the paper meant barely anyone would read it.
Now the effort required to sulk about how things are compared to back in the day, is significantly less than back in the day.
