They clearly intended for RVD to establish the ECW belt during his run as dual champion and he was hotter than the surface of the sun. RVD finally gets his run with the big one, beats Cena in a great match at the time when people were starting to tire of him, brings the top championship with him to ECW.....
And then fucks up and not only proves his own critics right but basically gives a massive "see i told you these guys were dirty trash" moment to anyone who internally thought ECW was trash.
