For those that only care about work rate and "technical" wrestling. Why do you even watch "professional wrestling". Just watch college wrestling and BJJ to get your technical fix in. "Pro wrestling without the story is just cosplay wrestling. Only reason to watch pro wrestling is for the drama and story lines.

Pro wrestling has always been some kind of elseworld where guys doing wrestling moves to each other is actually a legitimate combat style (in kayfabe), the irish whip, all sorts of weird little things which require suspension of disbelief.

ZSJ and Bryan Danielson just had a 20 minute technical wrestling match on PPV in front of an American crowd literally 3 days ago that was universally praised.

Bjj purple belt here. ZSJ submissions look very off such as his heel hooks and armbars. He tries to make a submission as dynamic as a heel hook static and I lose all reason to care. That octopus stretch can easily be escaped but yet it's seen as impressive for some reason.

You just had a PPV featuring the perceived two best technical wrestlers in the world, maybe if all time, and it didn't main event because a guy from the WWE was arriving and storyline and hype were more important than "technical wrestling".

You're taking some ancient match and a match where the focus was specifically on using technical wrestling as examples? The simple fact is in a typical match Zach will throw out euro uppercuts and kicks and even running punts as he pleases, his forte is technical wrestling but he supplements it with strikes, they aren't last resorts.
