They don't really care about that shit. They care about the optics, but none of them give a shit about the border. Just like with Obamacare, they don't provide solutions, they bitch like children but have no fucking plan to replace anything.
Democrats have their own problems, but hopefully the Republicans die off so the neolibs and left can finally split. It'd probably be more organized than Newt Gingrinch's 3 decades of obstructionist politics.
