>>11803012The movie comparison simply doesn't work. Movies are built entirely around the plot, characters, actors, and cinematography. None of these things can ever be improved over time through "new techniques" or technological advancements, they rely solely on the skill of the writer, actors, and directors. Cinematography is definitely one thing that has improved throughout the decades though. But that doesn't make the core content of the movie better, it just presents it more interesting ways.
Not to mention, it was already common in the early part of the century to study and rate films from all over the world, instead of being worked by Hollywood to think the Hollywoodverse is the only thing that matters and everyone else shoots films in bingo halls.
For the last 20-25 years, the major studios have produced movies with safe, money making formulas. So in essence Hollywood has been WWE-ified, with smaller studios and other countries producing more interesting and creative stuff than the Disneyslop made for mass consumption.
