I was hooked from PES2 until the early PS3 days and then I started losing interest. Picked one up for PS4 about 5 years ago and ML was unplayable because teams would sell all their best players so you had Salah joining Man United and shit. Said I'd never buy it again but I ended up buying that season update they did in 2020 and had a blast with it, but then they killed the franchise. Probably lost more hours of my life to PES than wrestling desu so it's pretty sad. You can count the good FIFA games on your thumbs.

pes6 had a thing where you would do really slow passes if you tried to do a first-time pass at a certain angle and it was like the momentum of the ball wasn't taken into account. was always annoying. doesn't seem to be there in pes5 which is why I've always preferred it to 6. 6 is a little slower

Fifa's career mode had a lot of interesting little management options, and it generally had a stronger TV presentation than its counterpart. You also had the challenges you had to complete in order to unlock certain items like 3rd kits and new stadiums and clips and so on.
