>>11820153I assume you asked what a family would like to play?
Well generally, if you can explain the game in sub 3 minutes, it shouldnt be a problem. Not all party games are well suited, for example "Dont Get Got" is kinda trash and will suck in a family setting. Generally I'd recommend games where loosing doesnt feel that bad, like "Dixit". Hidden Teams Social Deduction games can also be fun, but if the game is a swipe and one team wins without any issues, it can suck.
And if you want them to try more complicate looking games (Google "Mysterium" and awe at its table presence), easing them in with a simliar, but easier game (like Dixit for this one) is the way to go. Dont forget the magical sentence of "I will do all the admin so you dont have to worry about that", since that will put them on ease. Also Avoid games with player elimination that last more than 20 minutes
Anyway, a tl;dr of some of the games I like to play with my family and less boardgame able friends
-Dixit
-Detective Club
-Mysterium
All 3 are "interpret the image" games, but with their own twist
-Wavelenght (NA) / Perfect Match (EU)
Get a prompt (like "left: hot, right: cold) and you have to give a clue that matches the needle on the board for your team to guess
-King of Tokyo
perfect for younger folks aswell, my 8 year old nephew loves it
-Here to Slay
a rather fast "Take That!!" game. Cute artwork and fast rounds = less boredom
-Tsuro
An abstract game; you want to be the last person on the board. You have to lay tiles and move along the depicted rope. a game usually only lasts 15-20 minutes
-Secret Hitler
Among Us: the card game. Except with less murder and more faux politics. Good fun!
all games are games for 4+ players.
For 2-4 player games, I also very much enjoy "Cascadia" and "Bärenpark"
