Saya Kamitani's interview from Weekly Pro Special!

>Saya Kamitani dislocated her left elbow in the match against Tam Nakano due to a failed high dive from a high place, leading to her entering her first long-term hiatus. What is she thinking now? I asked her. (Phone interview on September 28th) Kamitani said, 'The moment I landed after the dive, I thought, 'It's over.' I couldn't move at all, and I could confirm that my left elbow was bent in an impossible direction. I lost the ability to leave the ring with my own legs, which is the essence of what I do as a wrestler. I became desperate, thinking, 'I don't want to stand in front of everyone as a professional wrestler anymore.' At the moment the match ended, only words like 'Pathetic. It's impossible. I want to quit.' came to mind (wry smile).

>"During my time away, I tried to stay calm and stopped watching professional wrestling. I had been living with constant pressure in my daily life, so I decided to reset for a while. But after about a month without any physical activity, the desire to wrestle started to bubble up within me. I tried to make this hiatus a positive one rather than a negative one, so I refreshed myself and switched my mindset. I kept myself updated on Stardom's big matches and title matches while doing lower-body training, even with a cast on my arm.

>I reaffirmed that I truly love professional wrestling. When I return, it will be my 5th year, and it will be a subtraction style of wrestling. Not just flying around, but focusing on technical aspects, in-ring skills, and a more substantial style of wrestling. I want to express professional wrestling in a different way.

>I heard that Suzu Suzuki said, 'Hurry up and come back with your frustration.' I know that I lost to her in last year's 5STAR. If Suzu wins the tournament, I want to challenge her as my first match back. I want to win and erase the humiliation from last year."
