but as a babyface you were supposed to not be a trashtalker, that's the heel's job
you were supposed to get yourself over like you're the one, you're the hero, you're the guy, etc
and when you're going against someone in a feud, you gotta make sure you sell the heel as a heel, and that conflicts with selling him on his trophies
which is why i said i'd agree with your statement, BUT the trashtalking part is mainly an attitude era and modern times staple where being an asshole slamming on other assholes became more enjoyed by the masses
