I’m starting to put effort into watching old AJPW matches. I’m a fan of Japanese wrestling for sometime but I’ve never really invested time into older stuff. I’m utilizing ClassicPuro83 on youtube and staring with his Tiger Mask 2 playlist. Are there any specific or stand out matches I should be looking out for?

somebody put together this pastebin a few years ago that covers essentially the entire big match history of king's road from the birth of the triple crown to the final pillar retirement
some of the youtube links are dead now but the matches are mostly not hard to find. the ajpw packs >>11832404 will have all of the pre-noah ajpw matches, some of the post 2000 ones may be a little trickier to find but you should be able to if you check enough video sites

Not OP but are the full shows worth watching or should you just get whichever match you're interested in and move along? I've never really followed how their tournaments unfolded over time, I just appreciate the matches on their own. Am I missing out on a lot of necessary context by doing this? I do this with current DragonGate as well

OP here right now the best I figure I could find was just matches. I would love to watch full shows. Or even just video breakdowns of build ups to certain matches, but I figured this would even be more difficult to find than full shows.

There is the occasional video package attached to the match, but since it's in unsubtitled japanese, good luck with figuring it out. Same with promos.

I've been showing this girl I'm into more Kings Road stuff. I got her into it after she talked about really enjoying Goontah matches, and asked if she wanted to see more stuff like it. She's enjoyed what she's seen so far. Especially a certain mint Kawada vs Taue match. Kings Road is for all.
