Like I genuinely don't get it. Some of y'all seem to want to see AEW or WWE fail more than you want to see the wrestling you "like" succeed. I don't really care. Brand loyalty can make sense. Trusting that the product that will be put out will be quality/enjoyable and if it isn't then that loyalty gets eroded but you're willing to see where they go with something at first. But that's not what modern companies like to do, they like to create mass engagement campaigns to try and bring people "in" as it were, so they feel more attached to the brand, rather than simply the way it was in ye olde days where "Sony make good TVs, if I get a Sony I know it'll be good"

Ignore every other answer in this thread except this. Everything else from WWE or AEW fans is pure cope. The only reason why anybody would fight this hard for a corporation is because they are literally failures in every other aspect of life and have to live vicariously through billionaires. This doesn't just go for wrestling, but for nearly every single major fandom where "teams" can exist.

WWE is what got me in to wrestling. During the PG era they became bad. They became noticeably softer in both the ring and in storylines. I started watching ROH and Japan. I had a lot of fun and liked wrestling again. Then came NXT and that wave where WWE signed everyone worth a shit off the indies and got AJ /Nakamura/Devitt from Japan. Roman Reigns was getting his giga push at the same time and that just completely killed my enjoyment of wrestling as a whole. There was not point in watching anything because WWE was a massive monolith that consumes and destroys everything.

AEW came along and got me back in. It's not perfect, especially at first it had a lot of bumps in the road, but they're on the right track and they've made me enjoy wrestling again. Having a product with infinite money behind it where the owner is a shoot autistic who loves wrestling is basically a dream come true.

Basically what I'm saying is, Tony Khan is the Jesus Christ of pro wrestling.
