He talked about this at his one man show I went to. He thought it would look great (against the advice of his gear lady), and even thought he’d get all his gear like that right up until he tried it on

It was pretty entertaining, if you’re into stories about the business he’s got good ones, and the latter half of the show is a Q&A from the audience which is where someone asked him his biggest regret about his career, and it was those pants.
