maybe his njpw run but his DDT shit is just as cringe as the shit he did now. even then outside of his big matches the bullet club were fucking geeks and always doing gay shit when he was running with them.

don't get me wrong, his aew title reign was better than most & solid but then surgery came & he's already coasting waiting till 1 more injury puts him out for good so he can retire. so lame.

Kenny's IWGP reign wasn't considered "the best thing", since he started doing the same cringe shit he did in DDT and now does in AEW. his series with Okada made him, but his actual run is not well regarded.

Nah. Nobody wanted him as a chickenshit heel champion. I understand that Kenny has a "comedy side" to his wrestling, but man this really didn't translate well into the product. It's such a weird tonal shift to what people were expecting from Kenny as a world champ that I suspected the gimmick was meant to be a shot at someone in the industry. Either way, it blew chunks and killed a lot of the hype for Kenny as the top guy.

I tried to get some friends to watch NJPW on AXS years ago and told them it was different from WWE and that episode had Kenny sticking a broom up Taguchi's ass. A totally ruined first impression of New Japan.
