Even when he bloated it wasn't just the fat it was his gear. He was coming out in shitty baseball jerseys he didn't look like a big strong fat guy like Gordy or Vader he looked like a guy in a 7/11. He also jobbed himself with the Misawa larp elbow gimmick, he'd previously been a guy who could and did work every style, the elbows should have just been an added gimmick but he increasingly cut his lucha, technical and indyriffic stuff to just be the elbow guy.
