>Create "compelling characters and legitimate story arcs" is the most low-effort criticism possible so it's no wonder he's always going on about that. No shit they're trying to create characters people are interested in. If it were that easy then anyone would do it.
Wrong.
One of the most infuriating parts of AEW is how consistently great their matches are but low effort and dogshit their storylines are, which is essentially a death wish for any American wrestling promotion. Do you know why Punk was such a massive draw through his entire reign and Edge fell flat on his face on arrival? It's because Punk booked his own shit and actually understood what makes a wrestling feud interesting.
There are a bunch of easy things Tony could do right now to instantly make stories in AEW 100x better.
>Let top guys fight each other and lose on Dynamite
>Have the roster act as a universe like WWE does rather than sticking people in single-threaded rivalries with zero overlap
>Hire good fucking writers (this one's inexcusable)
Tony has said time and time again that he builds up to "good matches" and ignores comments on PPV builds because "the PPV's themselves end up being good anyways". This fucking moron genuinely has no clue what he's doing. The only good storylines in AEW have been when The Elite got to do their own shit and when Punk/MJF got creative control.
