>>11876950AEW desperately need guys with presence, legitimacy, and the ability to catch the eye of a casual channel scroller or "hey check this out" social media view.
Comedy spots or overly elaborate choreographed shit gets a "haha neat, anyway". People will watch it then move on.
You need guys who stand out to look at, in how they move and talk, who feel larger than life characters worth seeing more of. Miro is one of their biggest guys physically, and when told to knock off his beta gamer bullshit can carry himself with presence. Is he gonna carry the company? No, never, but Redeemer Miro is going to make people pause and give him and AEW a second look if presented regularly and strongly.
There's several guys in this bracket who if just given a bit more protection and showcasing could turn heads. Andy Williams, Lance Archer, fucking Claudio especially, but they're all bit part players at best because AEW is obsessed with hyper relatable JUST LIKE ME booking to avoid triggering the insecure anti-aspirational social media fans who will aggressively brigade them if they take exception to someone or something - see Max Caster, Pullman Jr, fuck they tried it with Jericho. AEW pitch themselves as the alternative to WWE but rely exclusively on appealing to people who only want one specific type of alternative - ironic California hipster shit with lounge singer tribute acts disguised as "callbacks" and "longform narrative". They started off as a broader church but even inside the first year disappeared up their own arse.
