There's literally nothing wrong with bullying. Wrestling desperately needs more bullies because they gatekeep wrestling by filtering out the weaklings. Guys like Bradshaw, Bob Holly, Benoit, The Nasty Boys etc tested new guys coming into the locker room. The shitters who came in without a backbone were ran off or buried because they couldn't stand up for themselves, whilst people who fought back or were humbled but proved themselves regardless earned the respect of everyone. People tried Brock but soon realized he was the real deal, Miz was thrown out the locker room but was still determined enough to make it, Edge and Christian were bullied but they popped the boys by making them laugh. One of the reasons wrestling is the shits now with loser geeks in the ring is because there isn't anyone around to challenge them and run off those who don't have the balls to fight back.

Nash in TNA was wrestling's last real bully and it was still understandable, because it's like you said, he just had to test these guys. He had to test Joe and Joe had to go above and beyond to show that he wasn't just some fat idiot mark who didn't belong there.
Punk tried to be the bully with purpose but went out about it all wrong, you can't try these zoomer kids and get physical because they'll just rat on you and fuck up your livelihood simply because they can.
And not to blogpost but I've worked in landscaping, fine dining, few oil rigs and they all have a male-centric hazing culture that we all go through.
