Seriously AEWbros…what the fuck went wrong?

Look we all know WWE was viciously cold for MONTHS, hell even Raw had back to back to back record low ratings (1.3, 1.29, 1.23)…

So what changed?

My thoughts:
It seems like WWE got serious about things, started booking guys like LA Knight, Shinsuke, and Jimmy Uso way stronger, and took the emphasis off roman at the right time.

But even with that, how did AEW fall apart so fast? I genuinely believe Tony had months, if not YEARS of plans for cm punk. The reason the show has suffered (and Collision especially) has to be that. Everything seems so out of sorts, and I bet you its because he has no idea where to go now.

I think CM Punk publicly derailed the perception of the company in a major way. I think time away from Punk and putting on consistently good shows should be the fix.

Edge isn't a draw. Tony needs to bring CM Punk back. Take the title of MJF and put it on Christian. Fire the Elite. Hire actual bookers. Stop allowing TK to talk because he looks awkward on TV.

this. aew lost a lot of good will with the punk stuff. they wanted to come off blameless but reality is it made the company look bad regardless.

they need to go back to basics. tony needs to pipe down as well. also the mjf storyline needs to wrap up soon, dont care if adam cole is hurt. have him betray him from a wheelchair, just GET IT OVER WITH.

They're clearly not going to do that, it's gonna be MJF turning on Cole because Roddy sabotaged them, possibly through Jay beating him for the title. MJF prefers being a heel and resisted the babyface turn at every opportunity, the only reason he'd want to turn is, so he can give the fans what they want, then take it away.

Tony needs to stop booking for cage match and wrestle purist faggots. Those kind of guys that obsess over match quality and heatless dream matches. That shit doesn’t draw anyone to watch TV. Everyone has seen all the moves you could possibly do it pro wrestling and without a story hook to make normal people care, normal people will not care. Additionally, he needs to let shit breathe. The heckin dream matcherinos go 25 minutes and then he immediately moves to another segment before breaking. There will be a heel turn betrayal or a bloody beat down and within 5 seconds Excalibur will segue to a cringe Adam Cole comedy segment and when that ends it’s a backstage interview with Keith Lee and when that ends Eddie Kingston is coming out to defend one of the two titles he has from a different company.
