Running the ropes is insanely different from anything you can do in a gym.
Taking bumps on a slightly padded floor is about the closest thing you can do without any real shit.
Wrestling g is wholly different and being fit has very little to do with it but if you're serious here we go because I'm from the TWA I was trained by Rudy Boy Gonzalez.
Squats, push ups, burgers.
Eat right. Do a macro based diet and go for bulk and muscle not lean. You'll lose weight naturally and you need to be comfortable moving in your body.
Practice real wrestling. I mean it. Nothing will prepare you better than Greco-Roman wrestling.
Tumble. Tumble. Tumble. You gotta roll and learn to control your fall.
Most of wrestling is like you learning how to not break your neck or ribs. Once you can go in a straight line rolling or flipping then you Amp it up. Add in a flip. Add in a fall. Whatever.
Again I repeat if you are serious you also should go to a reputable school or get a reputable teacher. Some are weekly and some are monthly. Rudy was monthly at 200 - 400 dollars.
Get in with people. Reputation is so important. You have to be respectful. They tell you that I advance anyway. But I mean it. If you are rude early on it will never leave you and you're gone. Any attitude will fucking get you sent packing.
I hope this helps a bit and good luck. Hope to see you out there sometime!
