In the end it wasn't even about the Elite, it was about Tony failing to get his house in order and telling them all to act like adults. Punk probably felt like he had to do it because nobody else would and why he was fed up with Tony. It really is his toybox where he just wants everyone to be his friend.

Some to most of what he said in that scrum was right. We all knew the EVPs were self-mark manchildren and Khan was a feckless cunt for doing nothing to control the situation. He would have nipped it in the bud, fired Hangma'am for going into business for himself and forced the 2 sides to get along, capitalize on the real life heat to do a 6-man tag feud OR fire the EVPs and possibly Punk.

He was right about AEW.being a shithouse, but picked the wrong targets. really it is all Tony's fault because of his need to be the center of all AEW means that everyone is eating each other to be booked as the top guy. Of course Kenny and the elite would try to sabotage Punk and vice versa if it was literally the only way to get on the show, and since Tony was a big fanboy of Punk's it just made him a bigger target. Punk must have realized at the last moment that it was all Tony's fault when after Jack Perry shot on Punk during live television AFTER doing the a real glass spot that supposedly the AEW management banned before.
