I feel like the problem with MJF having the belt is that there's no threat to him in that it's his turn and he's not losing the title. At the same time, your main title holder is also a comedy act. Fine if he was TNT title holder but do you really want your main eventer being a comedy act?

The thing is, MJF is very talented and a it's not a lie to say he's top talent in the company, he can make a great feud that seems meaningful and build matches that have good story within them but now that he has had his run, he's not really mainstar material when it comes down to it half of the title matches doesn't really justify him being the champ because they are against Adam Cole of all people.
He's very unappealing to anyone but AEW die hard marks.

MJF started out against guys you knew werent going to take the title off him, pillars, Ricky, Bryan(because hes allergic to the belt) or guys that could beat him for it like Jay but they havent been built up at all on the main show so people probably dont care. Doesnt help that he just turned and you can see long term the plan is for him to hold onto the belt until Adam fucks him over.
