Haven't watched Smackdown since 2016; haven't followed WWE since being a child. I just don't like WWE-style. However, I decided to watch and see what they're promoting and comparing their program to AEW.
>SD
Strong storylines. Even though I haven't followed it, it was easy to watch. They know how to create drama. They still have the best video production in the world, putting together compelling promo packages. Their stars feel like stars.
>AEW
Lacked any dramatic grip by comparison. MJF and the cringey comedy as the main event storyline. Lots of guys look unremarkable.
The two shows just felts worlds apart. I don't like WWE. It's too slick for my taste. I don't like their Hollywood-lite style; but they know how to put on better programming. By comparison AEW is like watching the worst of TNA or WCW with American indy-style cringe. I have to admit Paul knows what he's doing even if it's not my cup of tea.
