this is the case. so many smarks spent a decade convincing themselves that vince dropped the ball with zack ryder or punk and that all of their favorites were misused and should have been the top guy. rusev is the best example of this, honestly. he should have been a top guy, tony signs him and he's barely on tv 3 times a year. the smarks are just so convinced at this point that they were cheated out of something that they have to pretend that aew is doing everything right. in their hearts they know the truth, it's just too painful to admit it.
