Because wrestling is dead. Has been for almost more than 15 years.
With social media and constant smartphone connection, I just don't see it recovering ever again.
It doesn't matter who tries. The problem is bigger than a single wrestler. And newer wrestlers have no star power.

Like 97% of all the Wrestlers that ever exist can’t move the needle, if all your favorite wrestlers are “draws” then your taste is really boring and generic, also it doesn’t help that the wrestling industry as a whole has been literally dead for last decade, what was the last wrestling match/feud that made got main stream national coverage? Because its already been 30+ weeks straight of No Milly. Nobody in AEW can overcome 4 years of Tony Khan's Booking and all around General Management which has proven "Letting the Wrestlers do what they want and be themselves" is not at all a sound strategy. The Year Over Year downward trend in Live Attendance is just more proof of this.
