I think the main benefit of this is to increase their bargaining power when negotiating with stadiums/cities/tv networks. Crossing over wrestlers into mma or fighters into wrestling was never on the table.
MMA fags don't want fake fighters appearing on their "real" show and wrestling fags don't want "real" fighters on their fake show saying how they could beat everyone on the roster up in a shoot

Hopefully for a future series of tough enough they send them to the UFC training plant to shoot fight each other like on ultimate fighter. In fact they should merge ultimate fighter and tough enough and try to make a crossover UFC/wwe star themselves. Teach them MMA and pro wrestling at the same time. Imagine Maven but also fighting on the UFC prelims as well as Heat
