Sting was actually a good fit for the nWo Wolfpac led by Kevin Nash in 1998. Sting’s Wolfpac run was a means to stay relevant while leaving him out of the main event scene in favor of a revitalized Nash and the emerging Goldberg, after Sting stunk up the joint vs Hogan at Starrcade ‘97 and vs Hall at Uncensored ‘98.

Sting eventually left the group after his match vs. Bret Hart at Halloween Havoc ‘98 so he could take a hiatus to get his drug addiction problems and personal life problems in order, as Sting was one step closer to becoming like Scott Hall and Curt Hennig in terms of severe substance abuse.
