Meanwhile the government had to have its arm twisted to give students debt relief, people are paying thousands for a hospital trip, there's a homeless epidemic, social security is being cut, they need to wageslave at 2 or 3 jobs each (accounting for Biden's "unemployment is great! the economy is great!), etc etc. They have no interest in fixing any of this.
You could give everyone UBI and it wouldn't scratch the surface of what the government gives countries halfway around the globe because the US wants to play peacekeeper while overthrowing governments and throwing countries into disarray to keep the military industrial complex going which is the only thing healthy because all other industries were sent out of the country.
