idea would be to have a loyal audience and build a territory
look at west cost pro, revolver, gcw and other indies with a loyal following

I'm not familiar with how indie promotions work, but I used to play at small underground music gigs and they mostly worked out because the guys in charage always paid us with a hand shake and hotdogs, and they usually got sponsored by bars, pizzerias, small brands and stuff like that. Maybe those promotions are something like that
