I've said it before, it was baffling.

Kane returning with a mask was a red hot angle, almost as hot as Sting/Undertaker vignettes.

Kane was older & didn't like attire that made it difficult to breath & move around in. I'm sorry big Glenn but you do 7m matches at most and most of that is the entrance.

Put the full scary mask on, with cool attire & leave the PJs at home. it was literally his last chance run before comedy tag and corporate kane.

Didn't Glen himself debunk that rumor? Either way I agree he should've remasked sooner (like in 2006, or whenever that storyline with the fake Kane ended) and use the Type O Negative themse after donning the mask again, with a "back to basics" approach to the character. If any wrestler embodies the saying "simpler is better", it's Kane.

I would really like to know, but he gave up the full mask almost a decade earlier for said reason afaik.

the guy was only 44-45, he still could've come in looking great. wasted opportunity.
