He was only right when Roman forced him to make him a heel because 2019 was such dogshit. "The Big Dog" gimmick was torture, even when he started to improve in-ring he kept getting bad promo material and storylines to keep bogging him down.

Vince tried to turn him into another Hogan and Cena and nobody wanted that (which makes it extra funny that Cody is being embraced doing exactly that)

Roman hasn’t made new wrestling fans, he has no crossover appeal and most people have only heard his name in passing if at all. He’s a heel and not put on TV or in many matches because that’s the only way people won’t turn on him.
