WWF had a ton of popular stars at that point and were firing on all cylinders. Rock was popular, but to claim he was the guy drawing crowds in 2000 was just false. He was one of many. And it was Austin that lit the fire that turned the tide in the war with WCW, not Rock. Rock was appearing for a few months, would wear out his welcome and get booed, then leave to film a movie, rinse and repeat by 2000. I was watching regularly and remember this clearly. Angle, Jericho, the Hardys, and others were just as or more over than Rock by then. The mega star that never got old was Austin.
