I’m not saying burned to the ground like a hot angry Japanese late 80’s-early 90s crowd but lots of shit would have been thrown. Chairs, cups, batteries, whatever they could get their hands on would’ve been tossed. After that, there would probably be some unrelated infighting caused by several drunks. Vince knew it was better to let the fans go home happy and gave RVD that win even if it wasn’t clean.
People think nothing would happen because fully castrated WWE through PG and Marine Cena came just a few months later after this, but no. Cena winning in Philly in the middle of the second big ECW return show where everyone knew they had to and cheer/react bigger than the last would’ve drawn blood.
