Thoughts on MJF's current booking? I personally feel like he's being wasted but I mean he gets a huge pop so maybe I'm in the minority

Dudes entire run was haphazard. He was obviously going to beat Hanger for the belt, then Punk got thrown in to that he was obviously going to beat Punk, but then Mox got the belt when Punk KWAB'd himself. He essentially has the overwhelming task of stabilising a relatively consistent belt that had 6 months of more or less non-canon runs ruining it. They shouldn't have thrown him in to the tag title division though. FTR Bald fucking pinned him FFS.

It's okay. His feud with BCG is a good idea on paper but the execution is mid because BCG aren't credible enough as heels. They're semi-comedy midcarders and Jay's promo skills are hit and miss. I like MJF's general character arc though. He'd be better served feuding with guys like Christian, Joe, Miro, or heel Danielson.

Punk blowing up, Regal getting released, Punk getting fired, and Adam Cole’s injury has cursed this run. The booking has been rocky because everytime it goes running, something trips it up. Who knows what the long term plans would’ve looked like if everything went as expected.

Bullet Club gold has been pretty entertaining though. Probably because the entire show is no longer on pause for Punk. Hopefully this feud can help to give this reign some kind of foothold. MJF has managed to roll with many punches.

They need to get him out of this stupid tag team midcard shit with Cole. If it wasn't for that, he would be a top tier champ. Also I hate to break it to Tony, but he should have stayed a heel like he was. His sudden overnight face turn was wacky.

It really doesn't matter what he did the whole time, but it's reality that he was always booked as a semi-top guy from day 1, winning the ring etc. He had that whole run with Wardlow as his bodyguard or whatever. Then he slowly got himself over and was in the title scene etc.

Honestly I feel the worst for Hangman. Punk coming in basically ruined his entire run as champion that had been building from the early days of AEW. Punk really did fuck a lot of shit up in a very short period of time, but Tony let him so it's hard to pin all the blame on him.
