Collision sits on a expensive and competitive time slot and in order for it to be viable for the tv-company it needs to be measurably attracting viewers for the advertisers to buy the slots to make the channel money. It's very simple concept, Tony owns the show but show is on a network basically leasing its time for the show and if it's not making returns, for the network it's better to just run re-runs of some old comedy series than a wrestling show if it's not making them any money for expenses and profits.
Collision is hemorrhaging money and viewers, it can't even land Dynamite numbers meaning their own dedicated fan base that watches Dynamite isn't watching Collision in the census group they are polling for ratings.
So they need something "big" to happen on the show for anyone to tune in, especially their own crowd.
I'm surprised this hasn't happened earlier if anything.
