Yeah, Backlash was smoother and had better counters and HIAC had that torn muscle worked into it make it a phenomenal underdog match but it's the Wrestlemania match that popped me. It delivered far beyond the 0 expectations, a great, well thought out match, rough and unpolished in the right places and didn't overstay the welcome either.
- the build up was pretty stupid in conventional sense,. Basically it was selling a wrestlemania midcard match with one guy who only the few people who see past the costumes how good of a worker he is liked, but to marks Seth wasn't a quarter as popular as he is now because the shit he did on the show was dumb.
Cody was rumored but there was always a chance it was someone else, it could have been Goldberg or Shane for all Vince cared and fans knew. Fact that it turned out to be a real hard hitting return match instead of another throwaway 2 minute Goldberg crush was some fantastical shit for that time.
