Hangman was in the wrong for shooting and trying to make the top babyface look bad. That said, his comments weren't that big of a deal and very few knew what he meant or was even alluding to. Punk blew up all by himself.

I don't think Page was the problem.
I think the problem was that Page was told it'd be good TV and found out the hard way he was lied to by the same people who'd later have a fight with Punk.
The Elite used Hangman as a stooge to get at Punk for wanting to do pro wrestling in a Cirque du Soleil promotion.
