Just awful booking, particularly having Foley turn on the Rock in his last match for 4 years. It would've been fine as a Rock vs HHH singles match you can still do the swerve at the end with Vince turning on Rock since it makes sense and puts heat on the McMahon-Helmsley era

Did they ever have another fatal four way elimination match? Not counting Elimination Chamber matches of course. I don't think they ever had any other elimination multi-man match I can think of. Gauntlets also do not count.

They needed to get Big Show and Foley out of there since HHH vs. Rock was the real main event. It was the best they could do with the circumstances. Big Show signed with them the year before and his contract gave him a WM main event. May as well throw Foley in there to let him get his main event, because a Rock/HHH/Big Show triple threat would’ve sucked.

I don't believe this poster. I think they just wanted an excuse to have a multi-man match is all. Austin wasn't there so this would have been the best time to do it. Also they had the McMahon family feud going on so it all just aligned right is all. Foley and Show were solid enough that they deserved a main event spot for the match.
