>>12076045This shit sucks btw. They drag you in front of a camera and make you answer questions and take pics like you are some kind of prop to get them over. The only time I have experienced a veterans thing that wasn't some kind of humiliation ritual was when I got free tickets to a Five Finger Death Punch show in 2013. After the show one of their managers wheeled me back stage, set me up at a table with food and drinks. After the band was done with their autograph shit they came back and ate and drank with me and the other vets and talked with us. There was no media or cameras just the band, the four of us vets, and their manager. It wasn't a show for the cameras and it wasn't condescending. It was just the band talking to us and trying to understand what we felt about the country, the service, and our sacrifice.
Their music kinda sucks, lol, but as human beings the members of 5FDP are amazing and I am always going to shill for them since they were the only people I met that treated me as a human being and not a prop. Plus they gave me a shit ton of merch. Literally filled the back of my van with shirts, backpacks, and a whole ass fucking keg of Coors Light.
