>Vegeta on finding suprise success as a face
"Honestly, I was stunned by the fan response during the Namek loops, I figured I would get a pop coming back after Kakarot and I had that classic match; but they see me show up when Gohan and Krillin are fighting Frieza's stable, and someone must've gotten really lucky in the dirt sheets spitting bullshit earlier that day, because they all thought I was making a run-in for the save. I stuck to the plan and stayed a heel because I still had my own angle, but when I get to the back, Akira is already tearing up the script and wants to start running a program where I put over Frieza and turn face. Now, I'm a professional - so if the booker says I'm a face, then I'm a face; but I know the business, know what sells, and I know what I'm good at, so I tell Akira I'll do it as more of a face-leaning tweener. He agrees, and Kakarot liked the idea because he got to stay on top as a pure babyface."
>When asked about rumors of his backstage attitude
"Oh I was absolutely an asshole when I was younger, I'll admit that any day of the week, and I still stand by that I did that shit to survive. A blind man could tell I'm probably the second shortest guy on the roster, and I had to be on the defensive 24/7 to make sure the crowd and the boys in the back didn't fuck with me, we were all wolves back then, you either fucked or got fucked. Did I bury some people? Absolutely I did, but I respect the business and I never fucked with people who could be a draw. Nappa was all looks and a mid promo, when we tagged early in our debut I had to absolutely carry him in everything so when he fucked up the match against Kakarot, yeah I was a little stiff during my betrayal spot. I will say though, after teaming with Kakarot after all these years, some of his promo shit is rubbing off on me (laughs) I might be a bit softer on some of the new guys now. You grow up, and you get tired of dick measuring ever day."
