Leading up to the fight, many people were saying "Even Mickey Gall doesn't belong in the UFC, nevermind Punk". Punk, finally free from having the pressure to build up the fight and freely talk to Gall, wanted to give some encouragement to someone who was in a similar position to how he once was.

What an odd thing to say to a guy that just beat you. It'd make sense if punk knew the ufc picked Mickey because in theory, he would've been an easy win for punk and thus didn't really belong on the card. But if that was the case, punk must've been soooo embarrassed.
