I mean I'm almost 40. There were TV shows, video and board games, the action figures seemed popular in the Hasbro/Galoob era as a kid in school. Renting Starrcade 86 and Survivor Series 91 was a kino Friday night. Also there were more magazines and old magazines were for sale cheap as fuck at flea markets and shit. Going to shows was fun too it wasn't a bunch of degenerate homos it was just poor people mostly.

Mid-80s you could find random territory and syndicated shows on over the air TV every saturday morning.
Early 90s only WWF and WCW was left. A lot of my friends stopped watching around this time.
Mid-90s a lot of the younger guys from the 80s were coming into their prime and got us watching again.
'97 was the GOAT year in pro wrestling. Nothing else will ever come close for a million and one reasons. The hype from week to week was unbelievable.

I think it depended where you lived
I remember in eastern PA we'd get IWCCW shows and Eastern Championship Wrestling before it became ECW
once I moved to Virginia I started getting USWA (Memphis) and Smoky Mountain, and ECW as well as it had gotten more well known and become Extreme Championship wrestling at that point.
Though yeah those shows were usually on at some fucked up time on some local channels and a lot of people didn't watch them so it'd just be WWF/WCW.

60 here. The 90's revolved around E-feds. I used to run an e-fed that toured numerous IRC arenas and held shows on a daily basis. One of the best e-wrestlers of all-time, Wang001 used to compete for me.
