>Over the bridge from Ichigaya station and up an alley next to Mos Burger is the smallest regular wrestling venue in the world. Formerly the waiting room of a dentist’s office, it has since been converted into a dojo for training wrestlers by the founder Emi Sakura. Chocopro is the company that runs here, putting on two to three shows a week that go out live on YouTube, free for everyone around the world to watch. The shows usually last a little over an hour and are incredibly intimate due to the venue size. If you’re one of the people lucky enough to get a front row seat, you will probably be acting as the ring ropes at some point, pushing the wrestlers back into the action. After the show, the wrestlers engage in a Janken tournament, the Japanese version of rock-paper-scissors, where the winner will receive a delicious piece of chocolate, then after the show you can meet the wrestlers and buy merchandise from them. The shows feature a core roster is of regular talent as well as a number of guests from bigger Japanese promotions and around the world, but I’d highly recommend this show to people who don’t regularly watch wrestling as well because this is such an unusual experience that you will not get anywhere else in the world, and the wrestlers and other staff are some of the friendliest people you will meet.
