i don't get it. how is his show so terrible? i've seen twitch streamers get more than 350k viewers. millions of people have access to TBS/TNT, so people are actively tuning out once AEW shows up

Saturday has got to be the worst day to put a regular wrestling show on, I don't know what the fuck Tiny was thinking. Wrestling is something you put on TV when you come home after work and want to relax, no on the weekends when you have better things to do

I don't see anything else for TNT or TBS in the top 150 for Saturdays. The Weather Channel with 86,000 and a Disney show with 98,000 gets in the top 150.

It seems like tony lost the fans' goodwill and faith with the punk debacle. Saying you're scared for your life because of a manlet getting put in a headlock by an mma can, made everybody not believe in him or care about him anymore. The show is bad and getting worse beyond all possibilities.
The show is promoted with random, heatless matches with guys who show up once every three months.
Nothing on the show ever builds to anything and stuff that is set up for a big payoff is either never paid off or the pay off happens randomly with no build.
The show is catered specifically to Tony's ego so he can tune in to Dave Meltzer's podcast and hear Dave say "great matches" 47 times, with no actual content beyond guys doing moves and some comedy segments.

College football season started on the week where Collision drew 562k and it has barely made a dent in Collision's viewership since then. Dynamite ran against the NBA Finals and gained only 30,000 viewers the following week when there was no such competition. AEW and sports audience overlap is nearly nonexistent and it shows you how retarded AEWtists are that they still use a demonstrable falsehood as cope. WWE events that run against it are Collision's actual competition, which definitively proves that a large number of AEWtists are closeted e-drones.

This. People still stay home and watch TV on Saturdays. The Colorado/Oregon football game back in September was the Pac-10/12's most watched game since 2006 and that conference is ceasing operations at the end of the season. UFC has held their big events on Saturdays for ages. All Excuses Wrestling.

When was AEW ever at a creative peak? Its initial viewership number was a result of audience goodwill built before the company even existed. 2021's viewership melt up was almost entirely from the hype around Danielson's debut and Punk's return to the wrestling business. Everything except for the content on the TV show itself created these brief, isolated "boom" periods. AEW would be a perfectly acceptable promotion if it ran 2-4 super indie shows a year. DUDE DREAM MATCHES LOL every fucking week makes the worst TV possible.
