Is it even possible in 2023 WWE for there to be a fan mutiny/hijacker or even for the fans to turn on a pushed talent?

When’s the last time they had a crowd actively hostile to a talent? Could it ever happen again?

Before AEW came along obese smarks would buy tickets to WWE's big four pay per views and shit them up. Now they're contained in AEW and we get real fan reactions not jaded weirdoes crying and complaining because the tv show characters aren't doing the same thing as in their fanfics

Smarks were in control back then. They would buy tickets just to boo popular, mainstream talent. They booed Cena, Rock, Batista, Orton etc. Literally the most over wrestlers in the world who drew mega dimes and they got booed by neckbeard smarks. Those fans all left and are now AWE fans and we all know how that fed is doing in ratings and sells. AWE being formed was actually the best thing that ever happened to WWE, because it quarantined all the faggots to their own isolated fed. They love any fat flabby vanilla midget and boo any mainstream talent. They booed Cody and then he came back to WWE and instantly became the biggest face in a decade. Cena got booed back then but now gets mega pops every single time he does anything. Hipster contrarianism doesn't work in a product like wrestling, you need to appeal to the mainstream or else you end up with half empty bingo halls like AWE.

Its totally possible, they just havent tried to push anyone as unpopular as reigns was back then. Also with crowd noise adjustments they could probably hide it slightly better. The closest would be austin theory, but hes a heel and people just arent giving him reactions, which is a little different than pushing a top face who is getting booed out of the building
