There have been a few bots from the original BattleBots and Robot Wars that returned for their respective reboots and did fairly well (Warhead, Nightmare, Son Of Whyachi, Terrorhurtz, Behemoth, and Storm2, to name a few) but all of them had been upgraded with modern tech and armor before coming back.
