Tony's problem is that he forgot that as much of an awful, abusive dick as Vince is, pro-wrestlers are still as a rule substance-abusing, brain-damaged, egotistical carnies and sex maniacs. They eat weakness alive, and you can't expect all of them to ever be equally happy with you. You're lucky if most of them are happy with you at all.
He also really, really shouldn't have chosen cocaine over actually taking vacations and rotating out the booker. For all his faults, even the best bookers are on fumes running at his pace, and I imagine that'd be the case even if sobriety were maintained.
