The majority of matches on a weekly show are going to be that no matter what. The whole point is that those matches punctuate and give encounters for people in the future, while your main story beats develop leading towards your big show. That way, the matches with more narrative to them feel like they're bigger and more important. If you try and make everything important, everything feels less.

Not everything needs to feel important. Just having a few B and C plots would improve AEW a shitload. And the problem isn't just that AEW lacks storylines, it's also that most of the talent has zero personality. Who the fuck even is Komander? What's his character? He doesn't have one. Card after card full of cold matches between wrestlers who might as well be robots because they have literally no personalities gets real fucking old after awhile.
