AEW might have put a halt on NJPW's American expansion, absorbed ROH (which was a corporate tax writeoff and hadn't been an indie since like 2010), but they didn't kill the indies any more than the indies killed themselves. Look how badly GCW fucked up after the Hammerstein show. AEW didn't do that. They loaned them wrestlers all the time, including their literal most pushed guy in Moxley, and had to cut them off because the fucking gay dick and dildo spots were too cringe even for the company that booked Mimosa Mayhem.
